The Beatles performed close to 300 gigs on its hallowed stage, and nearly fifty years on the Cavern Club remains Liverpool’s most iconic musical institution. Comprising the Cavern Club, Cavern Live Lounge and Cavern Pub, the venue under the brick arches takes pride in showcasing the city’s best new and established bands. Rated Liverpool’s finest nightspot by TripAdvisor, the Cavern Club is a tunnellike gig space that, like all sweatbox concert venues, results in some truly raucous live performances. The Live Lounge, meanwhile, is located at the rear of the club and regularly plays host to Beatles tribute shows and unsigned acts. It’s also a popular space for private functions. Last but not least is the Cavern Pub, situated on Mathew Street, opposite the club. Open daily from 11am, the atmospheric bar is home to a wide and varied collection of rock memorabilia. Like the other Cavern venues, it is a staple of the live music scene: bands and soloists take to the stage every night of the week, and admission is completely free.
